Jabalpur, MP: A young woman from Madhya Pradesh, aspiring to become an IAS officer, left her home after her father allegedly stopped her from pursuing further studies after class 12. Following a directive from the MP High Court, she has now agreed to stay with her father.
High Court Steps In
The case came before a division bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf. The court advised the young woman to reconcile with her father, keeping her future in mind. Following the court’s guidance, she agreed to live with her family again.
Background
The young woman had left home to continue her civil services preparation independently. She moved to Indore, where she took up a private job while attending coaching classes for the IAS exam. Her father filed a habeas corpus petition in the MP High Court after reporting her missing to the police. Despite several months of search, the police were initially unable to locate her.
Reunited with Father
Police finally traced her in Indore after ten months. During questioning, it was revealed that she was staying in a rented room, working, and preparing for civil services. She had left home due to her father’s opposition to her studies and pressure to marry.
Court-Mediated Resolution
During the hearing, the High Court noted her aspirations and ordered that she stay with her father for a few days to see if the home environment improved. If necessary, the court would ensure proper arrangements for her education and stay outside the home. Following the court’s directions, the daughter agreed to live with her father, and the habeas corpus petition was resolved. Advocate Deepak Kumar Raghuvanshi represented the petitioner.
