Satna, MP: In a shocking breach of security, a thief rode a bicycle into Satna Airport, carrying a hammer and chisel, and attempted to steal office equipment from the premises. The audacious incident occurred on January 28, 2026, when the accused, identified as Chandan Pal, broke through the boundary wall near the runway and entered the high-security area.
Authorities said Pal intended to steal chairs and computers from the airport office. However, before he could carry out his plan, vigilant security personnel intercepted him. The police recovered the hammer, chisel, and bicycle used in the attempt.
According to the police, the airport management incurred a loss of approximately ₹20,000–30,000 due to the damaged wall. Electrical Supervisor Ankit Gupta had filed a report at the local police station following the incident.
Chandan Pal was arrested by Kolagwan Police and presented before the court, which sent him to jail. The police have registered a case against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have initiated further legal proceedings.
