Daring Heist at Bank of Baroda Branch in Sawar: Thieves Break Through Roof, Loot Locker Room

Ajmer, Rajasthan: In a meticulously planned robbery, unidentified thieves broke into the Bank of Baroda branch in Sawar town, Ajmer district, by smashing the roof and gained direct access to the locker room. The extent of the loss is still under assessment.

According to preliminary reports, the culprits used advanced tools and machinery, indicating the involvement of a well-organized gang. The thieves first cut open the roof and then used electric cutters to remove sturdy iron grilles, creating a path to the locker room. Several lockers were forcibly opened, and valuables inside were stolen.

Cash Safe, Locker Contents Stolen

Bank authorities confirmed that the main cash kept in the branch remained secure. However, the total value of gold, silver, or other valuables stolen from the broken lockers is yet to be determined. Locker holders have been notified, and the final assessment of the loss will be made once they visit the branch to report their missing items.

Forensic Investigation Underway

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been called to the site to collect evidence, including the tools used to break the roof. Investigators are analyzing technical evidence to trace the culprits.

Police on High Alert

The Sawar police, along with CO Harshit Sharma and Additional SP Rajesh Meel from Kekri, visited the site and began the investigation. SP Meel stated that the evidence suggests the robbery was carried out by a major gang, given the level of preparation and machinery left behind at the scene. CCTV footage from the branch and surrounding areas is being reviewed to identify the suspects. It is believed the robbers took advantage of the bank’s off-hours, possibly during the weekend, to execute the heist.
