Darbhanga: A remarkable act of compassion has emerged from Majhaulia village in Darbhanga, Bihar, where villagers rescued two cats that had been trapped inside a locked house for three months. Not only did the locals provide food and water daily, but they also eventually freed the animals with the homeowner’s consent.
The house belonged to Saroj Jha, who locked it before Durga Puja and left for Kolkata. Trapped inside, the first cat survived thanks to the villagers, who slid biscuits and water through the window and grill every morning and evening for three months.
Second Cat Triggers Urgent Rescue
The situation escalated when a second cat entered the house one night, and their cries drew the attention of the entire village. Concerned for the animals’ well-being, the villagers contacted the homeowner, who finally agreed to let them break the lock.
The next morning, the villagers gathered and safely released both cats, who immediately ran into the open air. This spontaneous display of unity and empathy has become a talk of the region.
A Lesson in Humanity and Compassion
The Majhaulia incident highlights that humanity extends to all living beings. The villagers’ persistent care and collective effort over three months demonstrate how small acts of kindness can make a significant difference. Their initiative is now being celebrated on social media and stands as an inspiring example for future generations.
