
Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh: A gas cylinder explosion rocked Hotel Serenity at the popular hill station of Pachmarhi on Sunday morning, injuring four tourists and the hotel cook. The blast occurred around 8 a.m., sending shockwaves through the surrounding area.
Details of the Incident
The injured tourists hail from Buldhana, Maharashtra, while the hotel’s cook also sustained injuries in the blast. All five individuals were initially treated at a local hospital before being referred to the district hospital for further care.
Immediate Response
Upon receiving the report, Thana In-Charge Padam Singh Maurya reached the site immediately, ensuring the victims were evacuated safely. Hotel Serenity, located near the local police station, is a rented establishment managed by Assistant Director Sanjeev Sharma, STR.
Damage to Hotel Property
The explosion caused significant damage to the hotel, particularly in the kitchen, roof, and walls. The kitchen wall reportedly collapsed due to the force of the blast. Following the incident, administrative officials from Pipariya and an FSL team from the district headquarters were dispatched to Pachmarhi to investigate. The hotel has been sealed, with no one allowed inside.
Authorities are currently investigating whether a commercial or domestic LPG cylinder was in use at the time of the explosion.

Pachmarhi, located in the Narmadapuram district, is a scenic hill station in the Satpura range, attracting large numbers of tourists, especially from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Winter months typically see a surge in visitors coming to witness the picturesque landscapes.
