CRPF Commandant and Wife Arrested in Greater Noida for Allegedly Abusing 10-Year-Old Girl

Noida: A disturbing case has emerged from Greater Noida, where a CRPF commandant and his wife stand accused of holding and abusing a 10-year-old girl.

According to local police, Constable Tariq Anwar, currently serving as Commandant of the 235 Battalion, CRPF, Greater Noida, along with his wife Rimpa Khatun, allegedly kept the girl—who was brought from West Bengal under the pretext of domestic work and childcare—at their residence without official approval. The girl, reportedly a relative of Rimpa Khatun, was allegedly subjected to repeated physical and mental abuse.

The alleged maltreatment escalated on the nights of 14–15 January 2026, leaving the child in critical condition. She is currently hospitalized in a private facility in Noida and is on a ventilator, with her condition described as extremely serious.

The case came to light on 18 January when a CRPF Subedar Major stationed in Greater Noida informed the Ecotech-3 police station about the situation. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 110 of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant provisions. Tariq Anwar and Rimpa Khatun have been arrested, and the CRPF has suspended Anwar pending departmental proceedings.

Police and officials have confirmed that immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of the child, and further investigation is underway.
