Cough Syrup Case: Sonbhadra Police Seize ₹28.5 Crore Property of Bhola Jaiswal; Varanasi Police Ready for Action

Varanasi: Action in the ongoing codeine cough syrup smuggling case in Uttar Pradesh has intensified, with the Sonbhadra police taking significant steps against accused Bhola Prasad Jaiswal. Authorities have seized properties linked to him in Varanasi, as the city police prepare for further action against his son, the absconding mastermind Shubham Jaiswal.

A team from Sonbhadra, led by CO City Randhir Mishra, executed court orders to seal properties registered under Bhola Jaiswal and his family. The operation covered areas under Sigra, Mahmoorganj, and Chetganj police stations. Bhola Jaiswal, who was arrested at Kolkata airport, is currently in jail.

₹28.5 Lakh Property Sealed
The Sonbhadra police, acting under Section 107 of the BNS code and following judicial orders, sealed properties worth ₹28.5 lakh belonging to Bhola Jaiswal and his relatives. CO Randhir Mishra confirmed that the properties were sealed in accordance with NDPS Act provisions.

Varanasi Police Prepared for Next Step
Following the Sonbhadra action, the Varanasi Commissionerate Police is gearing up to target the assets of Shubham Jaiswal. ADCP T. Sarvannan stated that the police have identified properties linked to the absconding mastermind with an estimated market value exceeding ₹38 crore. Notices for attachment and the process of seizure are currently underway.

This coordinated action marks a significant step in the ongoing crackdown on illegal codeine cough syrup trafficking in Uttar Pradesh.
