College Romance Ends in Tragedy: Delhi Police Woman Commando Murdered by Husband

New Delhi: In a shocking case, Kajal, a woman commando with the Delhi Police SWAT unit, was murdered by her husband, Ankur, a clerk in the Ministry of Defence. The incident has sent shockwaves across the capital, with new details revealing the tragic circumstances of her death.

Incident and Investigation:
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka, Ankit Singh, confirmed that police received information about the attack on 22 January around 10 PM. Officers from Mohan Garden Police Station rushed to Tarak Hospital, Dwarka Mor, where Kajal had sustained head injuries. Investigations revealed that Ankur had attacked her at their residence in Mohan Garden. He was immediately arrested.

Kajal was subsequently referred to a private hospital in Ghaziabad, where she was declared brain-dead. She remained on a ventilator for five days before succumbing on 27 January 2026. Post-mortem reports revealed that she was four months pregnant at the time of her death.

On 22 January, a dispute arose over payment of Ankur’s brother’s school fees, escalating into a violent attack.

According to Kajal’s mother, Ankur struck Kajal’s head against a door frame, then a wall, and finally hit her with a dumbbell, leaving her unconscious. Despite initial treatment, she could not survive her injuries.

Police Action:
The Mohan Garden police registered a case of attempt to murder immediately after the incident. Following Kajal’s death, the FIR has now been amended to include murder charges under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

This case has sparked discussions about domestic violence, workplace pressures, and the safety of women in uniform, highlighting the tragic consequences of unresolved marital conflicts.
