Ranchi: Jharkhand is witnessing a steady rise in temperatures over the past two days, bringing significant relief from the recent cold wave. The warming trend has been felt across the state, including the capital Ranchi and surrounding districts. On Monday alone, temperatures in several areas rose by up to 3 degrees Celsius.
Chaibasa recorded a maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius, which is about 6.8 degrees above the normal average, clearly indicating that winter is now on the retreat in the region. Other cities such as Jamshedpur also saw daytime temperatures crossing the 30-degree mark, adding to the feeling of early warmth.
Further Rise Expected Till January 24
According to the Meteorological Centre, this upward trend in temperatures is likely to continue till January 24. Minimum temperatures across the state are expected to rise by another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during this period. Khunti remained the coldest place in Jharkhand with a minimum temperature of 5.1 degrees Celsius, while Ranchi recorded a minimum of 8.4 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that over the next two days (January 21 and 22), night temperatures may rise by up to 3 degrees, which will further reduce the chill during nighttime hours. Although light fog may still be seen at some places in the morning, the days are turning noticeably warmer with bright sunshine and dry weather conditions.
Ranchi Weather Outlook for the Next Three Days
- January 21: Maximum 28°C, Minimum 12°C
- January 22: Maximum 27°C, Minimum 10°C
- January 23: Maximum 26°C, Minimum 9°C
With winter loosening its grip, residents across Jharkhand are gradually bidding farewell to the biting cold, as daytime warmth and milder nights set in. The changing weather pattern has also brought a sense of comfort, especially for those who had been struggling with the harsh winter conditions over the past few weeks.
