CM Yogi’s Playful Moment with a Child Goes Viral During Makar Sankranti at Gorakhnath Temple

Gorakhpur: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared a heartwarming moment with a child at the Gorakhnath Temple, leaving both devotees and security personnel in splits.

Early in the morning at 4 a.m., adhering to the distinguished Nath tradition, CM Yogi offered a sacred khichdi to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, praying for the well-being and prosperity of all citizens. During the rituals, the Chief Minister fondly interacted with a young child. When asked what he wished for, the child shyly whispered in the CM’s ear, “Chips.” This innocent request brought laughter to the temple, and even the security personnel and surrounding devotees joined in the merriment. CM Yogi promised to fulfill the child’s simple wish, adding to the lighthearted moment.

The video capturing this playful interaction has quickly gone viral on social media, with netizens praising the child’s innocence and the CM’s warm response.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that millions of devotees across the state visited sacred sites from Wednesday onwards to offer prayers and celebrate Makar Sankranti with devotion. In Gorakhpur alone, devotees lined up in large numbers to present sacred khichdi to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath. Devotees also took a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj.

“It is my honor to offer khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath. Today, countless devotees are paying their respects with utmost devotion, and I consider it a privilege to have participated in this sacred ritual,” CM Yogi said.

He also remarked on the significance of Makar Sankranti, calling it an important festival rooted in Indian tradition. “The Sun is the soul of the universe, and worshipping Surya Dev during Makar Sankranti marks an auspicious time for all positive and celebratory undertakings,” he added.

The heartwarming incident of the CM and the child has added a joyful note to the spiritual festivities, further highlighting the warmth and human touch in the state’s leadership.
