CM Yogi Adityanath Honors Farmers, FPOs, and Agricultural Scientists on Kisan Samman Diwas in Lucknow

Lucknow, UP: On the occasion of the 123rd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh, a grand Kisan Samman Diwas was organized in Lucknow on Tuesday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the event as the chief guest and honored farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and agricultural scientists for their contributions to agriculture. The event also celebrated the enduring legacy of Chaudhary Charan Singh and his dedication to farmers’ welfare.

Tractors Handed Over to Farmers
During the ceremony, CM Yogi Adityanath handed over tractor keys to five farmers and flagged off 25 more tractors. The beneficiaries included Praveshika from Jalaun, Udham Singh from Shahjahanpur, Mukesh from Fatehpur, Shripal from Muzaffarnagar, and Jamaif Khan from Lakhimpur Kheri. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of modern agricultural tools in making farming more profitable and efficient.

Recognition for Outstanding Crop Production
Farmers excelling in crop production were felicitated with a cash award of ₹1 lakh, a citation, and ceremonial attire. The awardees included Kamalnath for paddy, Bijendra Kumar Singh for wheat, Ashish Tiwari for chickpea, Ramkishun for peas, Hiralal for mustard, Randhir Singh for pigeon pea, and Amresh Kumar for sorghum.

Honoring Women Farmers and FPOs
The event also recognized outstanding women farmers and FPOs. Sandhya Singh received ₹75,000 along with a citation and attire as a distinguished woman farmer. Vikas Kumar Singh (Jaya Seeds Company, Varanasi) was honored in the FPO category with ₹1 lakh, a citation, and ceremonial attire. Similarly, Kuldeep Mishra from Gonda was recognized as an FPO delivering the highest seed supply. Vikas Kumar Singh also received special recognition for his work in horticulture.

Agricultural Scientists Commended
Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Tiwari of the Agricultural Science Center, Unnao, was felicitated for his significant contributions to agricultural research and development.

Government’s Focus on Farmers’ Empowerment
In his address, CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance farmers’ income, provide access to modern technology, and transform agriculture into a profitable enterprise. He stated that following Chaudhary Charan Singh’s ideals, the government prioritizes the honor and empowerment of farmers, emphasizing that the development of the state is directly linked to the well-being of its agricultural community.
