Nainital witnessed an inspiring sight on Thursday morning when Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stepped out for an early morning walk, interacting freely with local residents and reviewing development works underway in the city.
The Chief Minister, who is currently in Nainital, began his day by meeting people along the route and walking up to the Naina Devi Temple. During the visit, he inspected the ongoing beautification and maintenance work being carried out under the Manas Khand Mala Mission, a state initiative focused on enhancing spiritual and cultural sites.
Admired Local Mural Art
While passing through Mallital Khari Bazaar, CM Dhami stopped to appreciate the vibrant mural art being painted on the walls. The murals depict traditional art forms of Uttarakhand, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage. He praised the artists and interacted warmly with shopkeepers and residents present in the area.
Stopped at a Tea Stall and Made Tea
In a heartwarming gesture that captured the attention of onlookers, CM Dhami paused at a roadside tea stall, took over the kettle, and prepared tea himself. Locals gathered around him, visibly delighted by the unexpected moment and engaged in lively conversation with the Chief Minister.
A Leader Known for Surprise Visits
CM Dhami is known for his informal surprise inspections and direct public interaction. In recent incidents, he was seen at a bus stand near the Dehradun Secretariat, where he expressed displeasure at the unhygienic conditions and personally picked up a broom to clean the area. A few years earlier, he had spoken with a woman from Uttar Pradesh during a bus journey, who later wrote him an emotional letter of gratitude.
His latest walk in Nainital once again reflects his hands-on approach and commitment to staying connected with the public.
