Ashoknagar, Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made a surprise visit to Madhi village in Ashoknagar on Monday, inspecting the panchayat office, government school, and gaushala (cow shelter) while engaging directly with villagers about local issues.
Unannounced Inspection at Panchayat Office
The Chief Minister arrived suddenly at the village panchayat building, calling the sarpanch for a quick review. He ensured the school gates were opened and checked classrooms, followed by a visit to the local gaushala. During the visit, CM Yadav discussed the implementation of government schemes and expressed satisfaction that funds allocated for cattle welfare were being properly utilized.
The CM’s sudden arrival caused a flurry of activity among local administration staff. Senior officials rushed to the panchayat office, cleaned tables covered in dust, arranged chairs (some brought on motorcycles), and installed additional lighting due to a single existing bulb.
Direct Questions on Corruption
While interacting with the sarpanch and panchayat members, CM Yadav asked pointedly, “Do the police or patwaris demand money from you? Are there any problems?” Villager Parvat Singh Kushwah raised issues regarding delays in receiving the honorarium and benefits under the Ladli Bahna scheme, which were duly noted by the Chief Minister, who assured prompt action.
Development Discussions and Villagers’ Demands
The Chief Minister also discussed ongoing and planned development work in the village, including villagers’ request for a CC road leading to the gaushala. He personally listened to problems faced by the community and assured solutions wherever possible.
The visit underscores CM Yadav’s hands-on approach to rural governance, combining surprise inspections with direct accountability checks for officials.
