Children Appeal to DM to Get School Holiday Amid Cold; New Video Goes Viral in Sambhal

Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh: A heartwarming new video from Sambhal has gone viral, showing two young girls requesting the District Magistrate (DM) for a school holiday due to the freezing cold. This comes after a previous incident in the area where children successfully raised a long-standing local issue through social media.

Children Reach Out via Social Media
On Tuesday, two girls from Ganesh Colony had climbed onto their rooftop to appeal for the removal of a high-voltage wire that had been lying unused above their home for 15 years. The wire posed a potential hazard to their family. Responding promptly, DM Dr. Rajendra Pansia instructed the electricity department to remove the abandoned wire.

Viral Video Shows New Appeal
Now, another 14-second video has emerged online, featuring two school-dressed girls standing and addressing the DM directly:
“DM uncle, greetings. We are your children. Please grant us a holiday as it is very cold. Thank you.”

Social Media as a Platform for Change
This incident highlights how social media has become a powerful tool for raising legitimate concerns. In the previous case, the girls’ plea regarding the high-voltage line led to its swift removal within hours, solving a problem that had persisted for over 15 years. The latest video shows that children continue to creatively engage with authorities to address local issues, even in small yet meaningful ways.
