Chhindwara: MP Intervenes After Police Delay in Eve-Teasing Case

Chhindwara News: Frustrated by the inaction of the police on a complaint of eve-teasing, the family of a college student in Chhindwara created a stir at the local police station. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP personally arrived at the scene and demanded immediate action from the police officials.

The Case: The incident occurred in the Kundipura police station area of Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh. According to the family, a local youth was harassing their daughter, a college student. The student’s parents lodged a complaint at the Dharamtekdi police outpost around 12 PM on Friday, but no FIR was registered, and no action was taken for several hours.

Distressed by the delay, the father contacted BJP MP Vivek Bunty Sahu to apprise him of the situation.

MP Takes Action: Upon receiving the information, the MP reached the police outpost in the late evening and demanded accountability from the officials. Expressing his displeasure over the delay, he was reportedly prepared to stage a sit-in at the station. The police, however, managed to calm the situation through discussions. The MP instructed the authorities to ensure that justice is delivered to the victim and strict action is taken against the accused.

Police Investigation Underway: Police officials confirmed that a team has been formed to locate the accused youth. The police also announced a departmental inquiry into the delay in lodging the complaint, which will examine the conduct of the outpost in-charge and staff. As of now, the accused remains at large, and the search is ongoing.
