Bijapur, Chhattisgarh: In a remarkable display of courage and determination, security forces have achieved a significant milestone in the Naxal-affected district of Bijapur by establishing a new security and public service camp in the remote village of Doditumanar, under the Gangalur police station jurisdiction. This initiative is part of the Chhattisgarh government’s ambitious “Niyad Nella Nar” plan, aimed at providing both security and essential services to residents in conflict-prone areas.
Opening New Avenues for Development
Despite the region’s challenging terrain, dense forests, and adverse weather conditions, the security personnel successfully completed the camp setup, demonstrating exceptional courage, dedication, and technical skill. The camp also strengthens connectivity along the Bijapur-Gangalur-Pidia-Tarrem route, opening up new possibilities for regional development in an area long affected by Naxal activities.
Overcoming Harsh Conditions
The establishment of this camp is considered vital not only for security but also for rural development. By overcoming difficult mountain paths, thick forests, and unfavorable weather, the forces ensured the camp’s construction while reinforcing the government’s commitment to local welfare and safety.
Enhanced Facilities for Local Communities
The camp will bring a remarkable improvement in basic amenities such as roads, bridges, healthcare, education, communication, electricity, drinking water, and public distribution systems (PDS) to nearby villages. Expansion of mobile network and internet connectivity will enable better implementation of government schemes and provide digital education and employment opportunities for youth.
Boost to Anti-Naxal Operations
With the establishment of the camp, anti-Naxal operations are expected to gain momentum. The local population’s trust in the government has also strengthened. Through the “Niyad Nella Nar” program, the government aims to ensure that no village is left out of mainstream development, and that residents experience both security and self-reliance.
Progress So Far
Since 2024, 22 new security camps have been established across Bijapur district. These efforts have resulted in 650 Naxals surrendering, 196 killed in encounters, and 995 arrested. Recently, the collective surrender of 210 Maoists in Bastar Division marked a major strategic achievement in the state’s mission to eliminate Naxal influence.
