Amethi, UP: A major commotion erupted on an Intercity Express train at Amethi railway station, as two groups of students engaged in a violent clash inside the general compartment. The train was running from Varanasi to Lucknow.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began shortly after the students boarded the train at Amethi. The scuffle quickly escalated, with students throwing punches and bags at each other, while exchanging abusive language. The train compartment was filled with chaos as bystanders struggled to avoid the melee. A video circulating on social media shows students attacking each other while onlookers watch in shock.
One student sustained a serious head injury during the fight, causing panic and confusion among passengers. The scene was described as chaotic, with shouting and commotion echoing through the train.
Railway authorities and the GRP have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. Amethi Sub-Inspector Shiv Sagar confirmed that the clash took place after the train departed from Amethi and assured that a thorough investigation is underway.
Passengers are urged to remain vigilant and report any violent behavior on trains to the railway authorities immediately.
