Celebrating One Year: Delhi Women to Receive Four Special Return Gifts on Reekha Gupta Government’s Anniversary

New Delhi, February 10, 2026: Marking the first anniversary of the BJP government led by Delhi CM Reekha Gupta, the administration is set to launch four special initiatives for women. A grand event will be held at Indira Gandhi Stadium on February 19, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah also in attendance.

Free Cylinder Scheme for Delhi Residents
As part of the celebrations, the government will implement a Free Cylinder Scheme recently approved in the cabinet for Holi and Diwali. Before Holi, the cost of one LPG cylinder, ₹853, will be directly credited to the bank accounts of ration card holders, benefiting around 17.5 lakh families.

Launch of “Lakhpati Bitiya” Scheme
On the same day, the Lakhpati Bitiya scheme will be rolled out, offering interest-free loans to women to start businesses. An online portal will be launched to facilitate applications. The government has allocated ₹242 crore for this initiative.

Pink Smart Card Scheme for Free Travel
The Pink Smart Card scheme will also be launched on February 19, allowing women from families with annual incomes under ₹3 lakh and no government employment to travel free on DTC buses. With this card, women will no longer need to buy multiple pink tickets; instead, they will receive a permanent smart card for hassle-free travel.

Ladli Scheme Payments to Resume
The Ladli scheme, which had pending disbursements, will resume on February 19, with ₹100 crore earmarked for pending payments.

Ferry Service on Yamuna to Begin if Trial Successful
A ferry service on the Yamuna River, resembling a small cruise, is also planned. Trials will begin on February 16, and if successful, the ferry will officially start service on February 20, offering residents a new mode of river travel.

Four key initiatives, one goal: the Delhi government aims to empower women across the city while celebrating a year of governance, marking a milestone in public welfare and urban development.
