Raipur: The controversy involving businessman Deepak Tandon and Chhattisgarh Police officer DSP Kalpana Verma continues to escalate, with new CCTV footage emerging even as the officer dismisses all allegations as fabricated and prepares to file a defamation case.
Tandon has accused DSP Verma of cheating him of ₹2 crore, along with allegedly taking a diamond ring, gold jewellery, an Innova Crysta car, and even getting a hotel property transferred in her family’s name. DSP Denies Allegations, Calls Them a Result of Business Dispute
DSP Kalpana Verma has categorically rejected all allegations, stating that the issue originates from a long-standing business transaction dispute between her father and Deepak Tandon. She claims that a cheque issued by Tandon’s wife had also bounced.
According to her, the businessman is attempting to tarnish her reputation with “completely baseless allegations.”
A Social-Media Storm
The case has exploded on social media, where posts, alleged chats, and video clips featuring DSP Verma have gone viral. What began as a business disagreement has now transformed into a narrative of love, deceit, and alleged blackmail, drawing massive public attention.
Businessman Claims Relationship Since 2021
Tandon alleges that he first met DSP Verma in 2021, after which their relationship deepened. He claims the officer consistently demanded money and gifts, eventually extracting more than ₹2 crore from him.
He further alleges gifting her:
- A diamond ring worth ₹12 lakh
- A gold chain and earrings worth ₹5 lakh
- A gold bracelet worth ₹1 lakh
- An Innova Crysta car
Hotel Property Transfer Allegation
Tandon also claims that Verma persuaded him to transfer ownership of one of his hotels located on VIP Road, Raipur, to her brother. He alleges that an additional ₹30 lakh was later spent to transfer the hotel into Verma’s name.
A formal complaint along with purported evidence has been filed by the businessman at Khamhardih Police Station.
Who Is DSP Kalpana Verma?
Kalpana Verma is a 2017-batch DSP, originally from Raipur, and is currently posted in Dantewada. Reports suggest she met Tandon in 2021 when she was posted in Mahasamund.
Responding to the allegations, Verma questioned why neither Tandon nor his wife had ever lodged a complaint earlier. She said, “Why now, when he is required to make court payments, does he suddenly remember all this?”
Officer Preparing Legal Action
With her name trending across platforms and allegations mounting, DSP Verma is reportedly preparing to file a defamation suit against the businessman, stating that her personal and professional integrity is being intentionally targeted.
