Buxar Police Raid Reunites Family with Son Missing for 8 Years

Buxar, Bihar: What began as a routine liquor raid turned into a heartwarming reunion for a family in Buxar district. A young man, missing for eight long years, was unexpectedly found and reunited with his family by the police.

Lost Son Found During Excise Raid
During a routine raid at the Veer Kunwar Singh Checkpost, officials from the police and Excise Department apprehended a youth on charges of consuming alcohol. Upon verifying his identity, the police discovered that the man was Sudhir Das, son of Gyani Das from Maricha village under Halai Police Station in Samastipur district. Sudhir had been missing for nearly eight years. The Buxar police immediately contacted Samastipur authorities, who informed Sudhir’s family. Ward Councillor Kailash Das, along with other family members, rushed to Buxar to reunite with him. Emotions ran high as they saw Sudhir alive after so many years.

A Life Shrouded in Mystery
When Sudhir went missing, he was married with a two-year-old child. His wife eventually returned to her parental home and later remarried. Sudhir, the fourth of seven brothers, also had three sisters. His mother had passed away 17 years ago due to an electric shock. Known for his quiet demeanor, Sudhir supported himself through odd jobs during his years away, though he has not revealed the reasons behind his prolonged absence.

Official Statement
Ashraf Jamal, Superintendent of Excise, Buxar, called the reunion a memorable moment for the department. “The young man had left home eight years ago. During routine checking, he was located and reunited with his family on Thursday,” he said.

This incident, initially a routine police operation, became an extraordinary story of hope, perseverance, and emotional reunion.
