Buxar: The main accused in the murder of RJD District Labour Cell President Arjun Yadav, Nikhil Yadav, has been arrested by the police. His accomplice, Vikki Upadhyay, was also taken into custody in connection with the crime.
Details of the Arrest
The murder occurred on May 26 near Chausa Power Plant under Mufassil police station. SP Shubham Arya stated that during a recent operation, Nikhil Yadav was apprehended on ITI Road in Buxar after receiving information that he had come for medical treatment. During interrogation, Nikhil confessed to the crime.
Weapons Recovery
A subsequent raid led to the recovery of multiple weapons, including a locally made pistol, a single-barrel rifle, 80 empty cartridges, and six live rounds, which had been hidden at Vikki’s residence in Sukarwalia village under Itarhi police jurisdiction.
Accomplice and Criminal Background
Vikki Upadhyay has also admitted to his involvement, and an FIR has been registered against him at Itarhi Police Station. Nikhil Yadav, a resident of Parsapur, Ghazipur district (UP), has over 13 serious criminal cases registered against him in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, including attempted murder, robbery, and gang-related offences. The Buxar murder case of Arjun Yadav marks his latest crime.
SP Arya confirmed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by SDPO Gaurav Pandey, continues to investigate the case, ensuring all accomplices are brought to justice.
