Businessman Accuses Woman DSP Kalpana Verma of ‘Love Trap’, Claims She Took ₹2 Crore, Diamond Ring, Gold Chain and Car

A major controversy has erupted in Chhattisgarh after businessman Deepak Tandon and his wife accused DSP Kalpana Verma of trapping him in a relationship and extorting money, jewellery and property worth several crores. The couple has filed a complaint in Raipur, alleging that the officer took over ₹2 crore from them, along with a diamond ring, a gold chain and even a car.

Allegation: Money, Jewellery and Property Taken

According to businessman Deepak Tandon, he developed a close relationship with DSP Kalpana Verma after meeting her in 2021. Over time, the relationship deepened — and, as per his claim, so did the financial demands.

Tandon alleges that he gave the DSP around ₹2 crore in cash over several months. Additionally, he claims to have gifted her a diamond ring, a gold chain and a car worth ₹22 lakh registered in his wife’s name.

Hotel Registered in DSP’s Brother’s Name

The businessman further alleges that under pressure, he transferred the registry of ‘Atmospheria Hotel’, located on VIP Road, to the name of the DSP’s brother. Later, Kalpana Verma reportedly invested ₹30 lakh and got the hotel transferred to her own name.

Wife Alleges Pressure, Says Car Was Taken Away

Deepak Tandon’s wife, Barkha, alleged that the DSP took custody of her car and that the couple’s relationship suffered because Deepak would often be on long video calls with the officer late at night.

When the couple began demanding their money back, tensions escalated and the dispute intensified.

Chats and Screenshots Shared as Evidence

The couple has also shared screenshots of chats and conversations, claiming they prove the DSP pressured Deepak to divorce his wife and marry her. Barkha Tandon said these activities caused severe mental stress in their marriage.

She also alleged that under pressure, she issued a cheque worth ₹45 lakh to the DSP, which was later encashed in the officer’s favour.

DSP Refutes All Allegations

DSP Kalpana Verma has completely denied the allegations, calling them fabricated and malicious. She stated that there was no improper relationship, no financial transactions and no transfer of any assets in her favour.

The officer claims the businessman is attempting to tarnish her reputation and that she is fully prepared to face any investigation.

As the matter heats up, police officials say further action will be taken after examining the evidence submitted by both sides.
