Lucknow, February 19, 2026: A tense situation erupted in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, when a Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) team faced violent resistance while attempting to demolish illegal construction in Puranpur village. The incident occurred on Wednesday, with locals reportedly attacking the officials and the bulldozer team.
According to reports, the attackers attempted to snatch official documents from the LDA personnel. Stones were thrown at both the bulldozer and the team, causing panic at the site. Employees and engineers were seen fleeing to protect themselves. An FIR has been lodged at Mohanlalganj Police Station against unidentified assailants.

The LDA team had arrived to enforce a demolition order on unauthorized commercial structures on a plot of approximately 2,000 sq. ft. on Nagaram Road, being constructed by Rajpal and others. The construction was carried out without LDA-approved plans, prompting authorities to seek a court order for demolition.
As the team, led by Zonal Officer Ravi Nandan Singh of Enforcement Zone-2, initiated action, local residents gathered and began protesting. Stone-pelting ensued, leading to injuries among the enforcement team and damage to the JCB and other government vehicles.
Following the incident, Zonal Officers Madhavesh Kumar (Zone-7) and Devansh Trivedi (Zone-1) were dispatched with teams to resume the demolition operation.
LDA Vice Chairman Pratmesh Kumar expressed serious concern over the attack and directed filing of an FIR. Sub-Engineer Vivek Yadav submitted the official complaint, and Inspector Brijesh Kumar Tripathi confirmed that cases have been registered against the accused under sections pertaining to obstruction of government work and assault.
