Pandhurna, February 3:
The administration in Pandhurna took strict action against illegal constructions on Monday, demolishing multiple unauthorized colonies. In a rare display of hands-on enforcement, SDM Alka Ikka personally operated a JCB, while Tehsildar Vinay Prakash Thakur drove a tractor to remove construction material from the sites.
Following the collector’s directives, demolition teams targeted illegal layouts along Varud Marg, Amravati Road, and behind Wankhade Sabha Bhawan. Roads, boundary walls, electric poles, and other unauthorized structures were dismantled. Revenue department investigations revealed that fertile agricultural land on Amravati Road was being illegally converted into plots for sale. A local resident, Pradeep Nehare, was found to have developed the layout without government approval.
The operation also included Guru Nanak Ward, where an unauthorized boundary wall built by Sanjay Bhange was demolished after being classified as encroachment.
Authorities confirmed that the crackdown against illegal colonies will continue in a phased manner across Santoshimata Ward, Nagpur Road, Bhopal Road, Amravati Road, and other areas. Municipal teams, revenue officials, and police personnel were deployed to ensure smooth execution. The strict enforcement has sent a clear warning to those involved in illegal land plotting.
