Bulldozer Action in Etah: 28 Illegal Shops Demolished, ₹20 Crore Land Freed from Mafia

Etah, UP: In a decisive action following a court order, the Etah administration demolished 28 shops built on government land in front of the Jalesar Tehsil. The operation, aimed at reclaiming land from illegal occupants, freed property worth approximately ₹20 crore from mafia control.

The demolition took place on Monday afternoon, when a large police contingent and the district administration team turned the area into a secured zone to carry out the bulldozer operation. District Magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh formed a special team led by SDM Bhavana Vimal, which executed the court-mandated action.

The targeted land, measuring nearly 1,000 square meters, had been illegally occupied for several years. The encroachers had built shops using iron and tin sheets, and three of these structures were permanent. The administration’s prompt action caused a wave of panic among the local mafia.

SDM Bhavana Vimal told NBT that the case had been pending in civil court for 8–10 years. Throughout the litigation, none of the 28 accused appeared in court or submitted any documents. Consequently, the court ruled the constructions illegal and ordered their demolition.

Additionally, fines ranging from ₹3 lakh to ₹7.5 lakh were imposed on all the encroachers involved, ensuring accountability and discouraging future illegal occupation.

This operation reflects the administration’s firm stance against land mafia and its commitment to protecting public property and enforcing court orders.
