Brutal Murder in Bulandshahr: BSP Ex-MLA’s Nephew Run Over by SUV, BJP Leader Named in Case

A shocking incident has rocked Bulandshahr’s rural belt, where Sufiyan, nephew of former BSP MLA Haji Aleem, was brutally killed by an SUV late Sunday night. His cousin Akram was seriously injured in the attack. Police have named four accused, including a BJP leader and his two brothers, while several others remain unidentified. One accused has been arrested; the rest are at large, with police teams conducting intensive searches.

According to the FIR, the victims—Sufiyan, Akram, and their companion Qadir Ali—were traveling on Maman Road from Neemkheda-Gyaspur village when they were intercepted near a farm by a white Scorpio vehicle. The vehicle reportedly contained accused Bhura alias Ravindra, Bablu alias Vijay, Pintu alias Satendra (son of Dharmapal), Tejpal (son of Rajpal), and three to four unknown individuals.

Attack Involved Firing and Looting
The attackers allegedly tried to intimidate the trio. Sufiyan attempted to flee but was deliberately run over by the SUV. Akram suffered severe injuries. The accused also robbed Akram of his licensed pistol and mobile phones, as well as Sufiyan’s phone, and caused damage to the victims’ vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported firing by the assailants in an apparent attempt to kill.

Politically Connected Family
The victims belong to a politically active family. Former BSP MLA Haji Aleem had served as MLA in 2007 and 2012. In a prior tragic incident in October 2018, Haji Aleem was shot dead inside his house. Sufiyan’s uncle, Haji Yunus, had served as Sadar Block Chief, and his wife currently holds the position. Yunus also contested the 2022 assembly elections on a RALoD ticket.

One named accused, Pintu alias Satendra, is affiliated with the BJP’s rural wing and was previously arrested in a robbery case involving a scrap trader from Delhi. Police are actively trying to recover the looted pistol and mobile phones and interrogating other suspects.

Post-Mortem and Funeral
The post-mortem of Sufiyan’s body was conducted late Sunday night, confirming death due to multiple injuries sustained in the attack. The funeral was held Monday afternoon after prayers, under tight police security.

SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh stated that the investigation is ongoing and all efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects.
