
Agra: In a shocking incident in Taj city, Agra, a man allegedly shot his biological sister in the head over a financial dispute, leaving her critically injured. The accused fled the scene immediately, and the police have launched a manhunt. Reports indicate that three people were involved in the crime.
The victim, Anita (55), wife of Shyam Singh, was shot dead at her residence in Ayodhya Kunj, Shahganj police station area, late Wednesday night. According to Shyam Singh, he had returned home around 10:30 PM from a wedding engagement when three individuals forced their way into the house, using a power outage as a pretext. While Anita was asleep, her brother Hari Singh alias Ravi allegedly shot her in the head.
Shyam Singh told police that his brother-in-law, Hari Singh, had been demanding money from Anita repeatedly, and Shyam had even spent a considerable sum to secure his bail in the past. On the night of the incident, the three men arrived on a motorcycle. When Shyam’s nephew opened the door, one intruder pointed a gun at him, while another held a firearm to a second person. Meanwhile, Ravi shot Anita while she was asleep; the bullet pierced her skull.
Police Launch Massive Hunt
Five police teams have been deployed to track down the assailants. DCP City Ali Abbas stated that the dispute over money was the motive behind the murder. The police received information about the incident around 11:30 PM and immediately rushed to the spot. Anita was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Despite four hours of medical treatment, she succumbed to her injuries.
CCTV footage has helped authorities identify all three accused, and efforts are underway to apprehend them swiftly.
