Brahmin Women Protest Against IAS Santosh Varma, Symbolically Behead Effigy Over Controversial Remarks

Agar-Malwa (Madhya Pradesh):
Angered by the controversial statement attributed to IAS officer Santosh Varma, claiming “a Brahmin daughter-in-law is needed,” women from the Brahmin community staged a protest in Agar-Malwa, taking to the streets with sickles in hand. The protesters symbolically beheaded Varma’s effigy, striking it multiple times before setting it on fire, while chanting slogans such as “Neem leaf is bitter, Santosh Varma is shameless.”

Protest Details:
The demonstration saw a large turnout of men and women, who marched through key city roads, expressing outrage over Varma’s statement, which they described as a direct insult to daughters of the community. The protesters demanded immediate action and filing of an FIR against the IAS officer.

Community Leaders Demand Action:
After reaching the Collectorate, the demonstrators submitted a memorandum to the police, reiterating that the statement was highly offensive and warned that if strict action was not taken promptly, the protests would escalate further.

Symbolic Resistance:
The symbolic beheading of the effigy by women, along with fiery slogans, reflected the anger and determination of the community to protect the honor of their daughters, emphasizing that such remarks would not be tolerated.

Authorities Alerted:
The district administration has been officially notified, and protesters made it clear that delays in registering an FIR or taking action would make the administration responsible for any escalation in the movement.
