Three district courts in Chhattisgarh—Sarguja, Rajnandgaon, and Jagdalpur—received threatening emails claiming that bombs had been planted inside their premises. The alarming messages were sent to the official email addresses of the respective judges, prompting immediate police action.
Following the threat to Sarguja District Court, the judge informed authorities, and a large police contingent, including SP and ASP officers, rushed to the scene. Security teams conducted thorough checks of vehicles, visitors, and all areas within the court complex. Dog squads and bomb disposal units were deployed, although preliminary searches have found nothing suspicious so far, according to Sarguja SSP Rajesh Agrawal.
Similar threats were sent to Rajnandgaon District Court at around 11:30 AM, leading to an intensive search operation. The court premises were sealed, and bomb disposal squads combed through rooms, corridors, parking areas, and other parts of the complex.
Jagdalpur District Court also received a threatening email claiming the presence of a bomb. The court was evacuated immediately, creating widespread panic within the premises. Bastar SP Salabh Sinha confirmed that the official email is being traced through cyber sources, and bomb disposal teams conducted thorough inspections. At present, the situation at all courts has returned to normal.
Authorities have assured that strict security measures are in place and the investigations are ongoing to identify the sender of the emails.
