Bomb Threats Shake Vadodara Schools; Police Launch Investigation

Vadodara, Gujarat: In a shocking development, 18 schools in Vadodara have received threatening emails claiming plans to carry out bomb blasts. The emails, reportedly referencing the Khalistan group, have caused widespread alarm among students, parents, and school authorities. Some schools in Ahmedabad also reportedly received similar threats.

The emails arrived shortly after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the city. Following the threats, Vadodara Police immediately evacuated the affected schools and deployed teams for thorough security checks. Initial inspections have so far found no suspicious objects, but investigations continue.

Schools that received the threats include DR Amin (Vasna Road), Urmi (Sama-Savli), Nalanda (Waghodia Road), Baroda High School (Bagicha), Navayug (Sama), Jivan Sadhna (Nagarwada), AWS (Dabhoi), Shanen (Khodiyar Nagar), Gujarat Public School (Waghodia), Bright School (Bhayli), Billabong School (Vadsar), Atmiya Vidyalaya (Manjalpur), Don Bosco (Manjalpur), Oxleyam School (Manjalpur), Zenith School (Pratappanagar), American School of Baroda (Ajwa Road), Baroda Public School (Waghodia), and Green Valley School (Ampad).

Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar ordered heightened security measures. The first emails were reported in the morning at three schools, but the number later rose to 18. The threatening messages specified a blast at 1:11 PM, prompting schools to dismiss students early and inform authorities.

Parents across the city panicked upon hearing the news, even those whose children attend unaffected schools. Authorities reassured the public through messages stating “All is well.” The city police cyber cell is actively investigating the emails. Preliminary findings indicate that a total of 31 schools were targeted with threats referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming “India will be divided” in connection with the Khalistan group.
