Bomb Threat to 12 Noida Schools During CBSE Exams Sparks Panic; Investigation Underway

Noida: Around a dozen schools in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, received bomb threats via email, triggering widespread concern among parents and students as CBSE examinations are currently underway. The emails warned of potential explosions, prompting immediate action from authorities.

Police and Bomb Squad Swiftly Respond

Upon receiving the threat, Noida police teams rushed to the affected schools. The Bomb Disposal Squad and dog squad units conducted thorough inspections of all premises. As a precautionary measure, school campuses were temporarily evacuated, and students were gathered under teacher supervision in open grounds while the investigation was carried out. The administration remains on high alert to ensure the safety of all students.

Meanwhile, cybercrime units have launched efforts to trace the sender of the threatening emails. So far, no suspicious objects have been found at any of the school locations. The police have also urged the public and parents not to spread rumors and to remain calm.

Case Likely a Hoax Mail

Officials have indicated that this appears to be another instance of a hoax mail. Schools immediately informed local authorities after receiving the threatening emails, and police teams began investigations with full deployment of bomb and dog squad personnel. Schools were thoroughly checked, and no explosives were discovered.

Exams Amplify Anxiety

The threat comes at a sensitive time, as board examinations for CBSE and UP Board are currently ongoing in several school centers. The timing of the email caused heightened concern among students, examinees, and parents alike, although no suspicious devices have been recovered to date.

Precautionary Measures in Schools

Following the email threat, students were quickly moved out of classrooms to school grounds, where teachers monitored them closely until the threat was cleared. The schools, in coordination with law enforcement, ensured a controlled environment during the inspection process.

Past STF Action Against Similar Threats

In a related development, a gang that had previously sent bomb threat emails to Noida schools was recently busted by the Special Task Force (STF). The accused — including Kedarnath, Lekhnath Sharma, Amees Jung Karki, Anant Kumar, Divyanshu, and Sahil Kumar — had sent threats on 23 January. Those emails were hoaxes generated from the United States, though the recovery link traced back to a fake call center in Noida, which was reportedly involved in online scams under the guise of a betting app targeting victims in India, Nepal, and the U.S.

The STF had successfully busted the gang based on digital trails. The recurrence of a similar threat has once again raised security concerns in the city.
