H

Narmadapuram, Maharashtra: A chilling message reading “Pak Zindabad” in the restroom of the 22177 Mahaanagari Express from Mumbai to Varanasi triggered a major security alert, sending shockwaves through the rail authorities and law enforcement agencies. The incident comes in the wake of recent bomb attacks in Delhi, which had already put the country on high alert.

Train Thoroughly Searched Across Key Stations
Following the discovery, the train underwent rigorous checks at Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Khandwa, and Itarsi. At Itarsi station, a bomb disposal squad, alongside GRP (Government Railway Police) and RPF (Railway Protection Force) teams, conducted an extensive search of the train. The message had been scrawled in the restroom of the general compartment, creating temporary panic among railway staff and passengers.

No Explosives Found; Abandoned Trolley Bag Turns Out Harmless
During the inspection, authorities discovered an abandoned trolley bag in the A2 coach, which briefly heightened fears. However, after a careful search, officials confirmed that the bag contained no suspicious material and had been forgotten by a passenger during travel.

High Alert Maintained Across Country
The Mumbai Railways Division stated that, as a precaution, all trains and stations along the route were monitored. Officials suspect that the restroom message may have been written to create unnecessary panic amid heightened security concerns. The train was cleared and departed with a minor delay of 12 minutes.

GRP Station Officer Sanjay Choukse emphasized that while the threat was unfounded, such precautionary measures are essential to ensure passenger safety during times of increased alert.
