Body Found Dragged Under Moving Car for 8 km in Budaun, Shocking Incident Raises Questions

In a chilling incident from Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh, a man’s body was found stuck beneath a moving Hyundai car and dragged for nearly eight kilometres, leaving passers-by stunned and triggering a police investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death.

The shocking episode came to light when occupants of a vehicle following the car noticed something lodged underneath it and signalled the driver to stop. Upon inspection, a dead body was discovered trapped beneath the vehicle, causing panic in the area.

Incident Unfolds Near Lalpul Area

The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Sadar Kotwali police station, near the Lalpul area. As the car was stopped, a crowd gathered at the spot and police were immediately informed. Police personnel reached the scene and removed the body from under the vehicle.

Car Owner Claims No Knowledge

According to police, the car owner Parvendra Pratap Singh, a resident of Mandi Samiti, was returning home on Friday evening after closing his fertiliser and seed shop located in Asrasi village. Due to rainfall and poor visibility, he allegedly remained unaware that a body had become lodged beneath his vehicle at some point along the route.

The body remained stuck under the car and was dragged for approximately eight kilometres until the vehicle was stopped near Lalpul.

Victim Identified Through Aadhaar Card

During a search of the body, police recovered an Aadhaar card, which helped identify the deceased as Ghalendra, son of Chunnilal, a resident of Raipur Bujurg village, under Bilsi police station limits in Budaun district.

Cause of Death Remains Unclear

Sadar Kotwali Inspector Sanjay Singh said that no visible dents or bloodstains were found on the car, making it unclear whether the fatal incident involved the same vehicle or occurred earlier with another vehicle.

“It is not yet established whether the death was caused by this car or if the body came under the vehicle after a separate incident. The matter is under investigation,” the officer said.

Police Questioning Car Owner

Police are questioning the car owner and examining CCTV footage from nearby routes to determine how and where the body came under the vehicle. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, which is expected to shed light on the cause and time of death.

The disturbing incident has sparked widespread speculation among locals and raised serious concerns over road safety, visibility during bad weather, and the circumstances leading to the man’s death.
