Bodies of Missing Couple Found in Delhi’s Sahibi River

New Delhi: A shocking discovery was made on Friday in the Kakrola area of Dwarka district, where the bodies of a husband and wife were found in the Sahibi River (Najafgarh Drain). Police, with the help of divers, retrieved the bodies from the water. The deceased have been identified as Munna Lal (58) and Ramvati Devi (55), who had been reported missing from Bindapur since January 17.

Police were alerted around noon by a cab driver who spotted the bodies near the Kakrola Nala picket. Officers from Mohan Garden and Najafgarh police stations, along with the Crime Branch and FSL teams, reached the site for investigation.

DCP Dwarka, Ankit Singh, confirmed that the bodies have been sent to Rao Tularam Hospital in Jafarpur Kala for postmortem, which will determine the cause of death. During the investigation, a mobile phone found with the male victim helped in confirming their identities. The couple’s son, Ritesh, had earlier filed a missing persons report with the police.

SHO Najafgarh, Sahiram Meena, and Inspector Omveer Vishnoi were also present at the scene, overseeing the investigation. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths.
