
New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested Mahfuz, also known as Bobby Kabutar, a notorious gangster who had been evading law enforcement for several years. He was wanted in multiple serious criminal cases, including murder and attempted murder, with a criminal network spanning Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.
Bobby Kabutar, a prominent figure in North Delhi’s underworld, was involved in several high-profile cases. Investigations revealed that he conducted reconnaissance prior to the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and provided firearms in the firing incident at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence. His name also emerged in the Nadeem Brothers murder case.
Role in Sidhu Moosewala Murder:
Police investigations indicate that Bobby Kabutar carried out extensive surveillance before Sidhu Moosewala’s murder. He relayed detailed information to Goldy Brar and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which was subsequently used by the attackers to carry out the daylight shooting in May 2022.
Involvement in Disha Patani Firing Case:
Following multiple crimes in Delhi and Haryana, Bobby Kabutar expanded his operations to Uttar Pradesh. He supplied foreign firearms to the shooters involved in the firing incident at Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly. Uttar Pradesh Police have previously neutralized two shooters in an encounter and arrested three others; Bobby Kabutar remained at large until now.
Link to Nadeem Brothers Murder:
Bobby Kabutar’s name also surfaced in the brutal murder of the Nadeem Brothers in Delhi’s Jafrabad area. Police reported that the attackers fired 48 rounds, 35 of which struck the victims, resulting in their immediate deaths on the spot.
The arrest of Bobby Kabutar marks a significant breakthrough in the operations of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and its involvement in organized crime across multiple states.
