Bloody Rampage by Stray Dogs in Pandhurna: 9-Year-Old Severely Injured in Meat Market Attack

Pandhurna Crime News: Panic gripped Pandhurna’s Meat Market area on Friday when a pack of stray dogs launched a violent attack on pedestrians. A 9-year-old boy suffered severe injuries to his hand, while two other young men were also seriously hurt.

The Attack

On Friday morning, chaos erupted in the Meat Market area as a pack of 30–40 stray dogs suddenly attacked people passing through. The attackers left three individuals critically injured, including a young boy from Tekdi Ward. Witnesses described the horrifying scene as people ran in all directions to save themselves.

The 9-year-old boy’s hand was badly mauled during the attack. Nearby residents rushed to his aid and immediately took him to the Civil Hospital. Doctors reported deep wounds on his hand and confirmed he is receiving necessary treatment, including anti-rabies injections. In the same attack, two young men, Vishal Balpande and Shubham Ghatode, were also bitten multiple times on their hands and legs. All three victims are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.

Stray Dog Menace in the Area

The injured, Vishal Balpande and Shubham Ghatode, said that the Meat Market area is constantly frequented by a pack of 30–40 stray dogs, attracted by leftover meat from nearby shops. These dogs frequently fight among themselves and sometimes attack passersby. Local residents say women, children, and elderly people living nearby often live in fear, and walking through the area in the morning or evening has become increasingly dangerous.

Repeated Incidents and Growing Concerns

Ward councilor Mahendra Ghode stated that this is not the first incident. Several people have fallen victim to stray dog attacks in the past. Despite repeated complaints, a permanent solution has not been implemented. Efforts to capture the dogs are often hindered by local opposition, leaving the problem unresolved.

Call to Relocate Meat Market

Residents demand that the Meat Market be relocated away from densely populated areas to reduce both the dog population and the risk of attacks. They stress that unless a long-term solution is implemented, more innocent lives could be put in danger.

Municipal Response

Sanjay Kadwe, a sanitation inspector at the municipal corporation, stated that stray dogs are captured and relocated upon receiving complaints. Campaigns are run periodically, but limited resources and local opposition prevent a permanent solution.

Public Anger

The attack has left the community outraged. Citizens warn that if immediate action is not taken, they may be forced to protest at the municipal office. Locals urge the administration to take the issue seriously and relocate the Meat Market to a safer location to prevent such incidents in the future. The Meat Market area currently remains tense, with residents awaiting decisive action from the authorities.
