Blood at a Wedding: Teacher Killed in Celebratory Firing; 3 Arrested, 3 on the Run

Rohtas, Bihar – A joyous wedding ceremony turned tragic in Rohtas district when celebratory gunfire claimed the life of a teacher during the jaimala ritual. The incident occurred in Thenua village under Shivsagar police jurisdiction. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Nandan Kumar Singh, a resident of Chihullar village in Itarhi, Buxar district, who was serving as a teacher.

Incident Details

According to police, the unfortunate event took place late Sunday night, around 1 a.m., while Nandan Kumar Singh had attended his maternal cousin’s wedding in Thenua village. Superintendent of Police (SP) Roshan Kumar confirmed that following a post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.

Weapons and Vehicle Seized; Arrests Made

Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident and have seized the firearm and motorcycle involved. The accused have been identified as Rohit Kumar, Prabhat Kumar, and Kundan Kumar. Police are actively searching for three additional suspects believed to be involved in the celebratory firing.

FIR Registered on Family Complaint

The FIR was filed based on the statement of the deceased’s younger brother, Chandan Kumar Singh. SP Roshan Kumar emphasized that strict action is being taken against all responsible parties, and the investigation is ongoing to bring all perpetrators to justice.
