Black Thar SUV Terror in Lucknow: Two Robberies and Assaults Reported

Lucknow, Feb 6, 2026: The city of Lucknow is witnessing a wave of terror by criminals riding in a black Thar SUV. The police are investigating multiple incidents of robbery and assault, following a spate of similar crimes over the past week.

Robbery and Assaults on the Move
On Tuesday morning, Fida Hussain, a resident of Saidnagar-Rawatpur in Kanpur, was waiting near Scooter India Chauraha for a ride back home when a black Thar carrying four men stopped nearby. The criminals lured him into the vehicle, took an alternate route, threatened him, and stole ₹5,400 in cash, a Fossil watch, a OnePlus phone, and his driving license.

In addition, the assailants forced him to transfer ₹1 lakh via Google Pay from his account. Hussain was later abandoned on a deserted road in the Rania area of Kanpur. He managed to return home and file a complaint at Sarojini Nagar police station.

Second Incident: Teacher Targeted
In a similar attack, Balram Patel, a teacher at Bada Bazar Government Inter College in Bahraich, was waiting for a ride in Kamta when three men in a black Thar offered him a lift. The attackers beat him during the journey, robbed him of his money and phone, and abandoned him on a deserted stretch along Kisan Path. The teacher reached home safely and reported the incident to the police.

Police Investigation Underway
Inspector Sanjay Singh of BKKT police stated that both cases share a similar modus operandi—targeting individuals, luring them into a black Thar SUV, assaulting them, and robbing valuables. CCTV footage in the areas is being scrutinized to trace the culprits.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid accepting lifts from unknown individuals, as the investigation into the black Thar terror continues.
