Amroha: A shocking incident unfolded on a busy road in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, where multiple two-wheeler riders lost control and fell within a span of just two minutes. The disturbing sequence of accidents, captured on a mobile phone, has gone viral on social media, raising serious questions about road safety and administrative negligence.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred near Blue Birds School under Bachhraon police station limits, where more than 10 bikers slipped and crashed on the same stretch of road in quick succession. Several riders were seen skidding along the road with their motorcycles, leaving bystanders stunned. In total, 15 to 20 people sustained injuries, and multiple vehicles were damaged.
Slippery Road Triggered Chain Accidents
Locals alleged that a liquid substance had spilled on the road, making the surface extremely slippery. Due to the sudden loss of traction, riders had no time to regain balance, leading to repeated accidents at the same spot. The viral video clearly shows bikers continuously losing control and falling, one after another.
Further inquiries revealed that the slippery condition was caused by sugarcane residue scattered on the road. Residents said tractors carrying sugarcane waste often pass through the area, and due to overnight rainfall, the residue turned the road into a dangerous skid zone.
Questions Raised on Administrative Lapses
Angry locals blamed the incident on the negligence of tractor operators and authorities, alleging that no preventive action was taken despite the obvious hazard. Some of the injured reportedly suffered serious injuries, prompting demands for stricter monitoring and timely road maintenance.
Police Respond, Situation Brought Under Control
Amroha Police confirmed that on January 23, sugarcane waste lying on the road near Blue Birds School caused the slippery conditions. Bachhraon police acted promptly after receiving information and arranged for cleaning using tractors and a sugar mill fire vehicle to wash away the residue.
“After the cleaning operation was completed, traffic movement was restored to normal,” police said in an official statement.
While the situation has since been brought under control, the viral video has sparked widespread concern and highlighted the urgent need for better road safety measures and accountability to prevent such avoidable accidents in the future.
