
Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Police department has been rocked by controversy after five obscene videos allegedly involving a head constable and a woman constable went viral on social media in Bijnor district. Both personnel were posted at Rehda police station.
The matter became even more sensitive after it emerged that the woman constable was seen wearing a police uniform in the viral clips. The incident has sparked widespread discussion among the public as well as senior police officials, bringing embarrassment to the department.
Following the videos’ circulation, Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Jha took immediate cognizance of the matter and suspended both policemen. A departmental inquiry has also been ordered.
Departmental Probe Underway
Police officials stated that the investigation will determine when and under what circumstances the videos were recorded. The inquiry will also focus on identifying the individuals responsible for leaking and circulating the clips online.
Cyber Cell May Be Involved
Authorities indicated that if required, the cyber cell may be roped in to conduct a technical investigation to trace the origin of the videos and track the chain of distribution.
Strict Action Promised
Senior officials have assured that strict disciplinary action will be taken against those found guilty once the inquiry is completed. The incident has also triggered renewed concerns about discipline and conduct within the police force.
