Bijnor: A mysterious death in Umri village, Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, left locals shocked on Monday morning. Sajid, 56, was found dead at his home. According to the post-mortem report, excessive gas caused by consuming lentils the previous night led to a heart attack, resulting in his death.
Incident Details
Sajid was reportedly alone at home when the incident occurred, as his family members had gone to the city for work. Concerned neighbors became suspicious when the main door of his house remained locked for an unusually long time. After repeated attempts to get a response failed, the family was informed, and the door was opened. Sajid was found unconscious inside, and doctors confirmed that he had passed away.
Post-Mortem and Family Reaction
Initial police investigation found no signs of injury, struggle, or forced entry. Sajid’s body was taken for post-mortem examination. Initially, the family opposed the procedure but later consented after police intervention.
Police Statement
Nagina CO Anjani Chaturvedi told NBT Online that the post-mortem report revealed that Sajid had consumed lentils the previous night. The report indicated that he suffered severe gas, which triggered a heart attack, likely causing his death. As a precaution, samples of vomit found in the room have been preserved for further testing to rule out any other possibilities.
The sudden and unusual nature of the death has left the village in shock, highlighting the need for caution even with seemingly ordinary foods in sensitive health conditions.
