Bihar: Woman’s Dance Reel on Railway Tracks Lands Her in Jail; Husband Now Running Court Rounds

Begusarai, Jan 14:
A woman and a young man in Bihar faced serious consequences after filming a dance reel on railway tracks. The video, recorded at Lakhminiya Station on the Barauni-Katihar rail section, came to light on January 12 and prompted immediate action by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for endangering lives and violating railway safety rules.

The Dangerous Reel

The video showed the woman dancing with a young man directly on the railway tracks while another man filmed the reel. The footage was handed over to the Begusarai RPF after it was first received by the Sonpur Control Safety unit.

Identifying the Accused

Following an investigation, the RPF identified the dancers as Aruna Devi alias Ruby Kumari, wife of Gorelal Mahto from Husaena Diyara, and 23-year-old Gaurav Kumar, son of Ashok Sah from Kishanpur Diyara. The person filming the video was identified as Nitish Kumar, son of Ramchandra Yadav, a resident of Lakhminiya.

Arrest and Legal Action

On January 13, the RPF Begusarai registered a case against the three for unauthorized entry into the railway premises, obstructing railway facilities, and creating a hazardous situation by dancing on the tracks. Aruna Devi and Gaurav Kumar appeared at the RPF station following a summons, admitted to being in the video, and acknowledged that the reel was recorded on December 28, 2025.

Following questioning, both were arrested and sent to judicial custody. RPF Inspector Arvind Kumar Singh confirmed in a press release that strict action had been taken against the individuals for violating railway safety norms.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of risky social media stunts on railway premises.
