Katihar, Bihar: In a shocking incident in Manihari, Katihar, a woman was brutally murdered by her fourth husband just eight months after their marriage. The victim, Jahanur, aged 42, had married Fariruddin, a quack doctor, who reportedly had his eyes on her property. When Jahanur donated a portion of her land to a mosque, the husband allegedly strangled her in the dead of night and fled the scene.
Property Dispute Turns Deadly
According to local residents, Fariruddin had married Jahanur primarily for her property and jewelry. While this was Jahanur’s fourth marriage, it was Fariruddin’s second. The dispute escalated after Jahanur decided to donate a valuable portion of her ‘Dehbari’ land to a mosque for religious purposes. Outraged by the potential loss of property, Fariruddin reportedly killed his wife in a fit of greed.
Community Demands Justice
Villagers have expressed shock over the crime and are demanding capital punishment for the accused. SDPO Vinod Kumar confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem and returned to the family. Special police teams are actively pursuing the accused quack doctor, raiding possible hideouts to apprehend him.
This incident has highlighted concerns over domestic disputes fueled by property disputes, even within religious and marital frameworks, and has left the local community in a state of fear and outrage.
