
Bagaha, Bihar, January 17, 2026: In a sensational verdict in the high-profile Lorik Yadav murder case (2022), a Bihar court has sentenced four accused, including the victim’s wife, to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of ₹50,000 each on all four; failure to pay the fine will result in an additional six months of imprisonment.
The gruesome case originates from Bishunpurwa village in Chautarwa (Bathuwaria) police station area, West Champaran district. The victim, Lorik Yadav, was killed by his wife Madhu, who conspired with her lover Krishna and two of his friends, Chhota Yadav and Ranjit Ram. Following the murder, the body was dismembered and disposed of at different locations, with the skull, hands, and legs recovered separately by the police.
The trial was conducted before District and Additional Sessions Judge Manvendra Mishra, who, after hearing arguments from both prosecution and defense, found all four accused guilty.
Motive and Investigation
According to the prosecution, the murder was motivated by an extramarital affair. Madhu, in collusion with Krishna, orchestrated the killing on June 23, 2022, and attempted to conceal the crime by dismembering the body. The police investigation, supported by forensic evidence and detailed courtroom deliberations, led to the conviction of all four accused.
Following the verdict, the accused were taken into custody and sent to prison. The shocking case has sent ripples through the local community, underlining the chilling nature of the crime.
