
Rohtas, Bihar: A celebration turned into tragedy in Rohtas district as a 25-year-old man was shot dead during a wedding dance program. The victim, identified as Veer Bahadur Singh, son of Rajeshwar Singh from Dhodhandih village, was shot three times, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.
Dispute During Dance Performance
The incident occurred in the Suryapura police station area of Dhodhandih village, where a wedding dance program was underway. According to reports, a disagreement arose between Veer Bahadur and a group of individuals over dancing with girls on stage. When Veer Bahadur went up on the stage, he was forcibly pulled down by some people, who then fired three bullets at him.
Shots to Face and Neck
Eyewitnesses said that Veer Bahadur was shot in the face and neck, causing his instant death. The gunfire created chaos, and the festive atmosphere quickly turned into panic as guests scattered.
Police Respond
A police team, led by the Sub-Divisional Officer, rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information. The victim’s body was taken to the district hospital for post-mortem, and investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
Father Speaks Out
“My son was shot while watching the dance. A villager from our own community killed him,” said Rajeshwar Shekhar Singh, the grieving father.
Official Statement
DSP Sindhu Shekhar Singh confirmed the incident, stating, “The wedding in Dhodhandih village included a dance program. During the performance, Veer Bahadur Singh was shot, resulting in his death. The case is under investigation.”
