Vaishali (Bihar): A shocking incident at Lalganj railway station in Vaishali has highlighted the lingering fear of local strongmen in Bihar. In a video that has gone viral, the station master is seen threatening a group of young men, claiming that he is the nephew of infamous gangster-turned-politician Munna Shukla.
In the 42-second clip, Station Master Manoj Kumar, dressed in a jacket and cap, is seen using abusive language and intimidating the youths. He says, “Do you know who we are? We are Munna Shukla’s nephew. We will tear you apart. Don’t try to challenge us. I’m explaining this to you very politely. Understand?” Even when one youth mentions that his house is near Munna Shukla’s residence, the officer continues to assert his authority aggressively.
The Dispute Began Over Reckless Biking
The confrontation reportedly started when a group of youngsters was riding bikes recklessly near Lalganj Pakdi station a few days ago. The station master tried to stop them, citing railway safety rules. When the youths resisted, the officer lost his temper and resorted to invoking the name of Munna Shukla, who is currently serving time in jail, to intimidate them.
False Claim Leads to Public Apology
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Manoj Kumar has no familial ties to Munna Shukla. Close associates of the gangster also denied any such relationship. Facing backlash and potential administrative action, the station master promptly issued a public apology, admitting that he had falsely claimed the connection in a fit of anger to scare the youths.
This incident underscores how the shadow of powerful local figures continues to influence the behavior of officials and the public in parts of Bihar.
