Bihar Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh Opens Up on Marriage and Career Priorities

Patna, Bihar: Bihar’s newly appointed Sports and IT Minister, Shreyasi Singh, has put an end to speculation about her marriage plans. In an exclusive interview with a YouTube channel, the BJP legislator from Jamui discussed not only her personal life but also her political journey, the growth of sports in Bihar, and women’s empowerment.

On Marriage Plans

When asked about her wedding, Shreyasi Singh smiled and said, “I am just waiting for the right man to come along.” She emphasized that she is waiting for the right life partner and believes that when the circumstances are right, the right relationship will naturally happen. She made it clear that her current priority is serving the people of Jamui and managing her responsibilities in Bihar’s Sports and IT departments.

A Journey of Determination and Perseverance

Shreyasi Singh shared the most emotional chapter of her life. In 2010, just before the Delhi Commonwealth Games, she lost her father, whose dream was to see her win a medal. Though she narrowly missed out in 2010, she trained rigorously for the next four years and won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, making history. She continued her hard work and eventually turned that silver into gold, illustrating the resilience she cultivated through years of dedication.

Championing Sports and Youth Empowerment in Bihar

Rejecting the old adage, “Study and you will succeed; play and you will fail,” Shreyasi Singh coined a new mantra: “Play and compete, you will excel.” She highlighted the ongoing sports revolution under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting that Bihar recently won 11 medals at the Uttarakhand National Games, compared to none previously. Under the “Medal Laao, Naukrī Pao” (Win Medals, Get Jobs) scheme, over 150 athletes from Bihar have already benefitted, marking a significant boost to sports and youth empowerment in the state.
