Bihar Shocked: Mother Poisons Her Own Children After Phone Argument With Husband

In a deeply disturbing incident that has shaken Bihar’s Aurangabad district, a mother allegedly poisoned her two minor children following a heated phone argument with her husband. The tragic episode unfolded in Pathra village under the Khudwan police station area, leaving the entire region in shock and mourning.

According to police officials, the accused woman mixed poison into laddoos kept at home and fed them to her six-year-old son and eight-month-old daughter. Soon after consuming the sweets, both children fell critically ill. Before family members could fully grasp the situation, the infants succumbed to the poison.

The incident reportedly occurred on December 8, 2025. Initially, the sudden deaths of the children raised suspicion and led to widespread speculation in the village. Acting on the information, Khudwan police reached the spot, took custody of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination. A detailed investigation was launched to uncover the truth behind the mysterious deaths.

After nearly 27 days of investigation, the police arrested the children’s mother, identified as Sanyukta Kumari, wife of Ravi Bharti, a resident of Pathra village. During interrogation, she allegedly confessed to the crime. Police stated that frequent domestic disputes and a phone argument with her husband on the day of the incident drove her to take the extreme step.

Daudnagar SDPO Chandan Kumar revealed that the woman used sulphas, a highly poisonous substance commonly used for grain preservation. She reportedly consumed the poison herself and also fed it to her children. The infant daughter died first, while the elder son was rushed to a hospital in Daudnagar but passed away later that night during treatment.

Following her confession, the accused was produced before the court and subsequently sent to jail under relevant sections of law.

This horrifying incident has left Pathra village in a state of disbelief and grief. Residents are struggling to comprehend how a mother could commit such an act against her own children. The case has sparked serious discussions about rising domestic stress, mental health issues, and the urgent need for timely intervention in troubled households.

The tragedy stands as a grim reminder that unresolved family conflicts can sometimes take devastating and irreversible turns, claiming innocent lives and leaving scars that society may never forget.
