Bihar Rail Incident: Freight Train Derails Near Aurangabad, Major Accident Averted

Aurangabad, Bihar: In a startling incident near Faesar Railway Station, three coaches of a freight train derailed on the DDU rail section. Fortunately, no trains were passing on the adjacent track at the time, averting a potential major disaster.

The incident has once again raised concerns about railway safety in the district. According to railway officials, the freight train was entering a loop line near the station when three of its coaches suddenly went off the track with a loud crash. The derailment did not affect the main line, allowing passenger and express trains to continue their journeys without delay.

Immediate Response

Railway authorities and technical teams promptly reached the site to assess the situation. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible technical fault or point malfunction, though the exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed inquiry. Efforts to lift the derailed coaches and repair the track were underway at the time of reporting.

Major Accident Avoided

Local residents emphasized that the loop line prevented the incident from affecting the main railway route. “Had the derailment occurred on the main line, it could have led to a serious accident,” they said. The railway administration has ordered a full investigation and will review safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Passengers and trains on the main route were not impacted, and the swift response of railway staff ensured that operations continued smoothly.
