Bihar Politics: Rebel RJD Leader Ritu Jaiswal Announces Plans to Form New Party

Patna: Bihar’s political landscape may soon witness the emergence of yet another party as Ritu Jaiswal, a rebel leader from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has announced her plans to take a decisive step in the coming months. The move is widely seen as a direct challenge to RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav.

Following the recent flurry of political developments in Bihar, including the initiatives by Prashant Kishor, Shivdeep Lande, and the Indian Innovation Party (IIP), Ritu Jaiswal’s announcement has added a new dimension to the state’s political equations. Jaiswal, a prominent RJD leader, had rebelled after being denied a ticket from the Parihar Assembly constituency and contested independently.

Impact of Ritu Jaiswal’s Independent Run
Although she did not secure a win from the Parihar seat in Sitamarhi, her independent candidacy caused significant disruption for the RJD candidate, highlighting her influence and voter base. This move has created ripples within the corridors of power in Bihar, signaling potential shifts ahead of the next elections.

Focus on Youth and Women
In a social media post, Ritu Jaiswal outlined her vision for the prospective party: “In the coming months, I will engage with the youth of Bihar, especially women. Based on these discussions, I will consider forming a political party that ensures proper representation for women, provides opportunities for the youth, eliminates the buying and selling of tickets, and leaves no place for nepotism. Both your suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome.”

Indirect Critique of RJD
Through her post, Jaiswal subtly criticized RJD using three key terms: opportunities for youth, ticket trading, and nepotism. These pointed remarks have already stirred the political corridors, generating heated discussions amid Bihar’s ongoing election preparations.

Ritu Jaiswal’s announcement underscores the growing impatience among rebel leaders within major parties, signaling potential realignments in Bihar’s political map ahead of the next assembly elections.
